Book Review: Love In A Headscarf by Shelina Zahra Janmohamed

Who’s read this? #loveinaheadscarf by #shelinazahrajanmohamed

This #memoir is a refreshing read. Shelina is smart, funny, highly educated. She’s a practicing Muslim woman, raised in North London. Shout out to my North London peeps! (Incase you’re wondering, yep i was raised in North London too). 👊🏼❤️

I loved her support network, specially her family. Her choices and opinion were respected throughout her journey, even if they didn’t agree.

Shelina is independent and ready for marriage, she’s on a mission to find her Mr. Right, the Halal way. Her search for a spouse is like most Asian women and the struggle can be real. I know many who can relate. (I’m joined/know a few U.K marriage groups, give us a shout if anyone wants to join or wants links!)😉

I know many British, South Asian Muslims will relate to Shelina, their journey might be slightly different but most will have had a similar upbringing and faced similar challenges. I thank her for showing a true light on my faith and i rate her for writing this memoir.
